What was the first brand that you worked with?
Lacquered U.P. She was a guest maker for my nail group and we quickly became friends. I love working with her and helping with PPU ideas. She's such a sweet person and a great friend.
Favorite finish to photograph? Least favorite finish?
My favorite polish to photograph is thermal polish. I like doing unique designs with hot and cold water then quickly taking a photo of the polish in the different temperature states. My least favorite polish to photograph is probably magnetic. I'm not very good at capturing the magnetic effect. It never seems to look as good or as 3D in my photos.
Any fun stories to come out of swatching? Like strange things you did to get the photo? Weird poses? Stuff that felt like a disaster in the moment but was funny later?
I like to take some of my photos in direct sunlight. As the seasons get closer to Winter the sun moves and it's harder to find a beam of direct sunlight. I often walk around my street looking at my hand through my camera trying to find the perfect photo. I'm sure I look hilarious to my neighbors. Non polish people probably don't understand why I'm taking photos of my hand holding a nail polish bottle.
If you could only wear one polish finish what would it be?
I own a few thousand (most purchased). A majority are untried but I love thermals. I'm not sure if thermal is a polish finish but if it is I'd choose thermal. If it isn't a finish then I choose linear holo.
